Lee Ann Dalton

I lean heavily on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We'll focus on the things you can control as you make decisions and set goals that are centered on your personal values. You'll be supported as you find the techniques that work for you. Couples are encouraged to be their most authentic selves as they explore reconciliation, separation, or divorce.

I help clients navigate some of life's most difficult transitions - active parenting to empty nesting, married to separated, high school to college to experienced professional. You'll get to know yourself, maybe for the first time, get clarity about what you really want from life, and set goals to help you get there.

My vibe is warm, relaxed, and friendly. I have an informal style that feels more chatty than clinical. I defer to my clients as the experts of their own experience and adjust my approach based on their feedback. I generally let clients set the pace of the work - you'll decide how quickly things progress and how deep you want to go.

I do some of my best work with people who have been through a lot but have a hard time connecting the dots. A lot of clients come to me because they're not sure what they want, they just know that what they're doing isn't working.

I truly enjoy holding people's stories, the good and the bad. I try to be the kind of therapist I would've needed at various stages in my life - as a young, queer person growing up in the South, as a college student trying to find my way, as a mom considering divorce, and as a parent of almost grown and flown kids.

My practice is affirming for folks of all different backgrounds and celebrates all identities. I am engaged in active work to make sure I'm practicing from an anti-racist perspective that accounts for systemic influences. Sometimes part of healing is recognizing that we're doing our best in a system that wasn't designed for us.
